02Context

The problem

The web estate had grown organically. Custom components, inconsistent experiences and duplicated design effort pushed maintenance cost up and slowed every launch.

04Use cases and decisions

How I decided

01

Audit before you design

A cross-platform behaviour audit of core components showed where brands had drifted, so the system fixed real inconsistencies.

02

Tokens carry the brand, components carry consistency

Each brand keeps its own look through tokens, while patterns and behaviour stay shared.

03

Three archetypes replace bespoke builds

Central Location, Brand.com and Above Brand cover most sites without a custom design each time.

Results and learnings

One source of truth for components, patterns and guidelines. 80+ brands now share a single tokenised system, and the estate costs 15% less to operate.
